Altamira Gypsy Jazz M01

Inspired by the legendary Selmer-Maccaferri models, the Altamira Gypsy Jazz M01 is a “petite bouche” (small soundhole) guitar that carries on the Django-style jazz tradition with elegance and authenticity.

Crafted from carefully selected high-quality tonewoods, it delivers a clear, biting, and powerful sound, characteristic of the gypsy jazz genre.

Its solid European spruce top ensures excellent projection and responsiveness, while the laminated Indian rosewood back and sides add warmth and harmonic richness. The mahogany neck provides comfortable and stable playability, complemented by a 19-fret ebony fingerboard that’s both precise and understated.

With its long 670 mm scale length, generous proportions (40 cm wide body, 9.84 cm depth), and natural satin finish, the M01 respects the aesthetic and sonic codes of gypsy jazz classics. It’s an instrument made for the stage, offering punchy rhythm playing and expressive solos.

Handcrafted in the Altamira workshops under the supervision of master luthier Hanson Yao, this guitar is the result of a dedicated team specializing in traditional gypsy guitar building techniques. A demanding instrument, ideal for passionate gypsy jazz musicians seeking outstanding value for money.
